Wellington Electricity Price-Quality Path Compliance Disclosures
The Commerce Commission regulates markets where competition is limited, including electricity distribution services. Regulation for electricity distributors includes regulation of price and quality through a price-quality path to ensure incentives and pressures, similar to those in a workably competitive market, are faced by distributors so that consumers will benefit in the long term.
The price-quality path set by the Commerce Commission includes how much revenue we can collect from customers, the quality levels that we must perform to and as required by our customised price-quality path from 2019 to 2021, the earthquake readiness milestones we must reach.
To demonstrate that we have met these performance expectations, we are required to provide two compliance statements:
- the Annual Price-Setting Compliance Statement; and
- the Annual Compliance Statement.
The Annual Price-Setting Compliance Statement demonstrates that our forecast prices for the year ending 31 March have been set at a level to collect less than the maximum revenue we are allowed to collect.
The Annual Compliance Statement demonstrates whether or not we have met our revenue, quality and earthquake readiness expectations set out by the price-quality path.
Copies of the latest compliance statements can be found in the Related Documents section below.
For prior years compliance statements refer to Price-Quality Path Compliance.
